Digital Stamps

Buying Digital Stamps, or Digi Stamps as they are commonly known, is a great way of developing a library of images which is much more affordable than purchasing lots of rubber and acrylic stamps. Many card makers and scrap bookers love to colour Digital images using Copic Marker pens but this could create some problems according to which type of printer you’ve got.

Some printer inks work really well with Copic markers, some work when you heat set the ink before you begin to colour, some only require to”rest” before colouring and some just do not work nicely at all and the ink will bleed.

The general rule of thumb for Copic Marker pens will work well with any digi images printed from a laser printer or a normal standard photocopier. Laser printers and photocopiers work employing a toner based system which means that the look is printed onto the paper by the machine actually melting the toner onto the paper. Which means the ink in the Copic Markers which is an alcohol ink will not bleed into the image lines.

However most home printers continue to be InkJet printers and the ink formula in numerous models can differ. The only method you can be sure that your printer is suitable to use with Copic Markers is simply by testing it out first before launching into a greater project that could get ruined. Older InkJet printers appear to make the most problems but when yours is newer usually do not automatically assume that it’ll work effectively.

Simply select the paper type that you plan to utilize and use an image onto the paper. First of all choose a corner of the image to work straight lets start on your pens – if it does not cause “bleeding” your printer needs to be fine to make use of. I would recommend employing a light coloured pen so you can easily check if the image edge bleeds.

When it does bleed then use the identical image again on another part of the paper and this time let it rest for a few minutes before again looking to colour If this again does not work, reprint again and then heat set the image using a heat gun before you start to colour. If you find your printer ink will not assist the Copic pens after trying all these methods you may consider still using the Copics but stopping your colouring just short of the printed edge that you just would normally be colouring up to. Should you be then unhappy with the finished work I would just accept that you need to look to another medium for colouring in your Digi-Stamps!

Card Making is Creative

Making cards is really a creative and incredibly personal type of expression. It’s taking whatever we love to do and sharing it with family, friends and, occasionally, even people we do not know.

Each card that we make is often a combination of our personal design and style and carefully chosen words and phrases woven together.

These handcrafted items are gifts filled with encouragement and love from our hearts.  Some individuals are fantastic with words and always know exactly what to say.

For other people the card itself is the treasure. A whimsical image can stand alone on a card front to supply a lighthearted message. Layer upon layer of color may be used to create a stunning background that reflects a particular feeling.

Interesting touches, like heart charms and old keys, enables you to deliver a message without words at all. With making cards you can express what’s on your mind plus your heart, even on days when words don’t come easily.

The recipient will open your card and know certainly that it was made with love. That is a reward alone.
